BBC star rushed to hospital forcing them to suddenly axe shows --[Reported by Umva mag]

SCOTS comic Janey Godley has been rushed to hospital amid an ongoing cancer fight.

The funnywoman, 63, was forced to cancel an upcoming tour as she battles sepsis.

Janey, who featured in BBC crime drama Traces, wrote online: “I have to cancel my upcoming tour.

“I’m sorry but the cancer has spread and the Beatson cancer team have advised me to stop work.

“I am currently in hospital with sepsis ( it’s under control) pls contact your theatre for a refund – I’m sorry everyone.”

The comedian has been in hospital recovering from the deadly infection for the last eight days.

She told followers on X/Twitter that nurses had advised her to rest.

Janey added: “The sepsis is under control but the cancer is spreading.

“They’ve told me not to work, I have to just focus on just dealing with what we’re doing just now.

“I want to thank the Scottish NHS, Beatson, Marie Curie and everybody out there who has been so kind to me.”

Janey of Glasgow was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2021.

Earlier this year terminally ill Janey revealed she decided to carry on touring thanks to a pep talk from pal Jimmy Carr.

The stand-up star was set to abandon her Not Dead Yet shows on receiving the devastating news that her cancer had returned.

But the 8 Out of 10 Cats funnyman convinced her to get back out on the and she is now busier than ever promoting a feature-length documentary inspired by her gigs.

Janey told TV chat show host Lorraine Kelly: “My mate Jimmy Carr said, ‘Is your mouth not working?’ I went ‘Yeah, my mouth works’, and he said, ‘Well get back on tour.’
