A huge BBC presenter is reportedly considering a move across the pond after feeling like the broadcaster blamed her for falling viewing figures.

Alex Scott, 40, felt like she was ‘thrown under a bus’ over ‘unfair criticism’ about the dwindling audience for Football Focus, it has been claimed.

Now, her future at the BBC is unclear and there are ‘no guarantees’ she will return in the summer – particularly as her contract is up for renewal.

Instead, Alex is said to be considering other ‘exciting projects’ including moving to the US with her girlfriend, Jess Glynne, 34.

A source told The Sun: ‘Last year she was hugely hurt by unfair criticism about falling viewing figures – and felt she was thrown under a bus.

‘The viewing figures were not as reported and she feels no-one backed her up and issued the correct viewing figures.

‘The viewing figures are actually super healthy, and Alex raised her concerns as she has been in this business long enough now to stand up for herself.’

When approached by The Sun, Alex’s spokesperson declined to comment. Metro has also reached out to reps for Alex and the BBC.

Suggesting a move to the US could be on the cards, Jess previously spoke to Metro about how she spent a ‘long time’ there writing her record.

She also said that she ‘make it work’ with Alex despite them both having ‘really busy’ schedules.

Alex began her career as a footballer, mostly playing as a right-back for Arsenal and for the Lionesses. She also represented Great Britain in the 2012 summer Olympics.

She started appearing on programmes including Soccer AM and BBC Sport while still playing football before retiring from the sport in 2017 and going into media full-time.

Alex has presented shows such as Match of the Day Kickabout and the 2018 Fifa World Cup, becoming the first female football pundit at a World Cup for the BBC.

Her other TV hosting work includes The One Show and Sky Sports’ Goal on Sunday alongside Chris Kamara.

Outside of presenting, Alex has competed on Strictly Come Dancing, coming fifth place with partner Neil Jones.

She also appeared on Bear Grylls’ ITV show, Mission Survive, which she won. and participated in Who Do You This You Are.

In 2022, Alex published her first memoir How (Not) To Be Strong.
