A 17-YEAR-OLD boy is fighting for his life after he was hit by a car during a high-speed police chase.

Two men have been arrested over the horror smash in Bradford just before 8.30pm last night.

Cops previously launched a manhunt after the car allegedly failed to stop following the collision.

One man aged 33 was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving.

The man was also arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

A second man, also aged 33, was held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Both men remain in custody tonight while cops continue to quiz them.

Cops in a marked vehicle first spotted a speeding car at around 8.25pm last night.

The officers turned around to give chase, but the motor was “out of sight” by that time.

They soon came across a pedestrian believed to have been hit by the speeding car, which had failed to stop at the scene.

The 17-year-old boy suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

Halifax Road was closed for more than 12 hours while investigators combed the area for clues.

The thoroughfare has since reopened to traffic, a police spokesperson said.

West Yorkshire Police has referred itself to the IOPC police watchdog over the case.
