Donald Trump was spotted in the kitchen and a drive-through of a McDonald’s in Philadelphia.

The US presidential hopeful put on an apron to work at the fast food restaurant in a bid to take a dig at his rival Kamala Harris.

Trump said he had ‘really wanted to do this all my life’ as he visited the restaurant in Feasterville-Trevose, Bucks County.

The 78-year-old said: ‘I’m going for a job right now at McDonald’s – I’ve really wanted to do this all my life. And now I’m going to do it – of course she didn’t do it.’

It comes after Harris said she used to work at a McDonald’s during college in Washington ‘doing french fries and ice cream’ to support her studies.

Trump appears to have become obsessed over the Democratic candidate’s resume in recent weeks, leading to his latest stunt.

The former Republican president has claimed that Harris never worked at McDonald’s, saying she had ‘lied’ about working there, news agency AP reports.

Harris’s campaign has used her background in the campaign to showcase she ‘knows what it’s like to be middle class’ to try to set her apart from Trump.

Inside the McDonald’s, Trump spoke to workers and cracked a few jokes.

He said: ‘It’s a good job, isn’t it? Not bad. You have a nice owner?’ Trump asked. ‘Be careful, he’s right there,’ the ex-president said with a laugh. ‘Be careful. Eight years, that’s the end of that.’

The employee responded that the franchise owner Derek Giacomantonio was great.

In a sign posted on the restaurant door, Giacomantonio announced the closure and that ‘while we are not a political organization, we proudly open our doors to everyone,’ MailOnline reports.

Trump supporters lined the street near the restaurant hours before he was expected to appear, according to the outlet.

Footage showed snipers were stationed on a nearby shop roof.

Pennsylvania is considered one of the most important swing states in the upcoming US presidential elections. In swing states, both candidates have similar levels of support, meaning they could make or break the entire race.

With less than a month to go until the 2024 US elections on Tuesday, November 5, both Harris and Trump are on the road to sway undecided voters.
