The weather warning for thunder means some flights have been delayed at Gatwick Airport today.

Met Office has forecast thunderstorms and heavy rain in the southwest of England. It could bring hazardous travel conditions on roads and railways.

Gatwick Airport said some flights have been delayed because of ‘severe thunderstorms.’ A handful of flights – mainly by British Airways – have been cancelled at Heathrow, but this is thought to be unrelated to the weather.

Elsewhere, the M58 has closed eastbound at junction J5 outside Skelmersdale, West Lancashire after a car landed on its roof following a crash.
