Heinz mayonnaise – good. Walkers Monster Munch – good. Put them together and it’s unexpected, to say the least.

The famed condiment brand is joining forces with the cult crisps in a collaboration that just seems incredibly weird, just in time for spooky season.

Ahead of Halloween next month, Heinz’s limited-edition Scarily Good Monster Munch Pickled Onion Flavour Mayo is set to hit shelves.

The new sauce will combine the divisive taste of pickled onion Monster Munch with it’s staple creamy mayo.

Heinz says it could become a cult favourite and is only selling a limited number, offering just 1,000 bottles.

The sauce will be landing on Iceland shelves on September 24, before rolling out in supermarkets nationwide in October.

Anyone who can’t wait that long can also purchase the condiment from the Heinz website for £2.40.

Heinz is trying to be more experimental with its seasonal offerings, following on previous successes they’ve had.

Last year for Halloween, they had a limited edition Black Garlic mayo which was a hit.

Heinz has also previously partnered with Walkers and come up with three flavours in the past: a Roast Chicken and Heinz Mayo flavour, Sausage Sarnie and Heinz Ketchup, followed by Cheese Toastie with Heinz Beanz.

Director of taste elevation at Kraft Heinz, Thiago Rapp, said: ‘We’re thrilled to be partnering with Walkers to bring Heinz [Scarily] Good Monster Munch Mayo to life. With Halloween just around the corner, we wanted to create something truly special.

‘Following on from the success of Heinz Black Garlic Mayo last Halloween, we were blown away by the excitement people felt around these limited-edition products for spooky season.

‘Monster Munch, with the iconic claw, was the perfect partner for mayo this Halloween, providing a scarily good twist on the classic.

‘This mayo is the ultimate flavour mash-up that will add a tangy twist to any dish and also reflects our dedication to pushing boundaries and exploring new, bold flavours that appeal to modern palates.’

Over at Walkers, their senior marketing director Wayne Newton added: ‘Teaming up with Heinz this Halloween to launch the [Scarily] Good Monster Munch Mayo is an extremely exciting time for us.

‘With our own Scarily Giant campaign running for the first time last year, we’re no strangers to Halloween.

‘This year we’ve taken it a step or claw further by partnering with Heinz to create the ultimate spooky sauce.’
