As the world mourns the loss of the beloved singer, a video of Liam’s candid interview on the “Impaulsive” podcast in 2022 showed the extent of the pain he endured behind closed doors while relating to his former bandmate Zayn Malik.

On the podcast, Liam said there were “many reasons” he disliked Zayn but “many reasons why [he’d] always be on his side.”

He related his own personal problems to Zayn, saying he was “misunderstood by [himself] more than anyone”.

The late star tragically added: “I don’t know what I’m doing or why I’m here. I can’t sit here and pick on him for whatever.”

Liam goes on to give advice to the podcasters: “Your only hope is that at some point in their life the person on the other end of the phone wants to receive the help you’re willing to give them.”

He also told how a mystery respiratory illness left him floored in 2021.

Liam admitted turning to alcohol and drugs to hide how he struggled to cope with One Direction’s dizzying levels of fame — which would spark panic attacks and high levels of exhaustion.

He came across as erratic in interviews by making bizarre claims, including that Cowell built One Direction around his talents and that his solo career has been the most successful of all his bandmates.

The star died instantly from multiple injuries including a fractured skull after tragically falling from a third-floor hotel balcony.

The 31-year-old singer was in Buenos Aires for his ex-bandmate Niall Horan’s tour when he died after falling from the third floor on Wednesday afternoon.

Cops found Liam dead in the hotel’s inner courtyard at around 5pm local time (9pm UK time) when they arrived.

A final 911 call from hotel staff on Wednesday revealed they needed “urgent assistance” from cops to help with a guest “behaving erratically”.

Argentinian police said staff reported an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol”.

Witnesses at the hotel reported Liam even had to be carried back to his room, according to TMZ.

Recordings from the 911 calls made by the head of reception show them reporting “a guest who is destroying everything in his room”.

In a second urgent appeal for help the receptionist said: “We need you to send someone urgently because I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger.

“They must be in a room that has a balcony. And well, we’re a little bit worried he’ll do something, that he’ll put his life at risk.”

Police who suspect the star may have been intoxicated are now set to look into who might have supplied Liam with drugs, say La Nacion.

The star had posted earlier in the day talking about riding horses, playing polo, and looking forward to returning home to see his dog.

He has left behind his seven-year-old son Bear who he shared with Cheryl after the pair met when Liam was on the X Factor.

Cheryl reportedly feared the worst for her ex in the years before his tragic death in Buenos Aires.

A source claiming to be close to the Girls Aloud star told the Mirror: “Cheryl is really worried about Liam.

“She’s really protective of him and is worried no one is actually looking out for him.”

It followed the beloved artist being rushed to hospital with a serious kidney infection last August.

The Wolverhampton star was born August 29, 1993, and had early health battles and was bullied at secondary school.
