Roy Keane mocked Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya in the aftermath of Sunday’s draw with Manchester City, also taking aim at the ‘stupid’ Leandro Trossard for his red card.

City rescued a point to deny Arsenal top spot on Sunday evening with John Stones providing the twist in the tale deep into injury time.

The Gunners led 2-1 heading into the final moments of the first-half but played the entire second period with ten men.

Trossard, already on a booking, was given his marching orders after intentionally delaying the restart and kicking the ball away after a foul on Bernardo Silva.

Arsenal fans bemoaned the decision – particularly after Jeremy Doku appeared to get away with one in a similar incident 20 minutes earlier in the contest.

But Keane was in an unsympathetic move, describing Trossard’s decision as ‘the height of stupidity’.

‘If you are on a yellow card – I’ve said it before – you need to try not to give the referee a reason to give you another yellow card,’ Keane told Sky Sports.

‘He’s obviously barged into the player, and then he has kicked the ball away. It’s not even a debate. You don’t need to watch it 30 times! He’s wrong, and it’s the height of stupidity.’

Arsenal desperately tried to hold onto their lead in the second period, utilising a number of tactics to try and run the clock down at the Etihad.

Raya was among the Arsenal players to go down with cramp with Keane sarcastically praising the goalkeeper for ‘getting up’ in dire circumstances.

‘I do worry about the Arsenal keeper though because he picks up a few injuries during the game, doesn’t he?’ Keane said.

‘He gets treatment and then he gets up. He obviously gets that magic sponge. That’s pretty good, yeah.’

Arsenal were denied a first win at the Etihad since January 2015 thanks to Stones’ late equaliser, with the England international also taking a swipe at the Gunners’ dark arts.

‘We know to expect that. You can call it clever or dirty, whichever way you want to put it. They break up the game and obviously it upsets the rhythm for everyone. They use it to their advantage.’
