Huge condolences to his friends and family. He was much loved.” Hyslop was born in Helensburgh in 1951 and played alongside Ure in band Salvation. He joined Simple Minds in 1981 replacing then drummer Brian McGee. The Glasgow-based band were famed for a string of hits including Don’t You and Alive And Kicking. Scores of fans rushed online to pay tribute to the late much-loved rocker.
