Netherbeck Holiday Park is an owners-only park, but owners have noted the friendliness of staff[/caption]

Netherbeck Holiday Park in Carnforth, Lancashire

Netherbeck Holiday Park is a small owners-only park, which means only holiday home owners can visit, but can come whenever they like throughout the year.

Owned by the Holgates Family Group, the park is surrounded by countryside and views across to Warton Crag Local Nature Reserve.

Within a short 10-minute drive from the park is the charming town of Carnforth, with a variety of shops, pubs and supermarkets.

Less than an hour away is the Lake District, and the coastal footpath along the bay towards Bolton-le-Sands is accessible directly from nearby Bay View Park

While there are no holiday homes available to hire at Nethebeck, it recommends staying in nearby Silverdale or Silver Ridge, where there’s a range of holiday caravans

Sue Van Eijkern, an owner at Netherbeck, said one of the reasons she chose to own a home there was because of the friendliness of staff. She said : “We chose Netherbeck because of the friendliness of Kim & Eddie and liked how the site was homely, comfortable and quaint.”

Pennine View Park in Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria

Pennine View Park is nestled on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and just a short drive from the Lake District.

It’s also less than a mile from Kirkby Stephen Station, which sits on the famous Settle to Carlisle route.

As well as your usual camping and motor home pitches, there are ‘Mountain Pods’ which sleep up to five people and come with mattresses, heating, a fridge, kettle, BBQ and picnic bench.

What’s become popular over the years is the park’s onsite bar, The Engine Shed.

A converted old railway goods shed, it’s now a stylish bar serving draught beers, local ales, a selection of gins, wine, and soft drinks.

One of the park’s guests, who visited in August this year, wrote on Tripadvisor: “Superb site, clean, great facilities but above all, so friendly.

“The Engine shed is a great place, pop up food every night in their kitchen, bar is good, very spacious.

“Staff so friendly, helpful and happy, and seem to enjoy themselves.”
