The Simpsons has featured cameos from the likes of Paul McCartney and Stephen Hawking – but one of its most unlikely guest appearances was from a This Morning star.

In 2015, Cat Deeley featured in an episode of the long-running cartoon as a TV presenter and spilled on today’s This Morning what it was really like behind the scenes.

The 47-year-old enthused: ‘It was amazing. We went to the Fox Studios and all the old dressing rooms are there, so like Marilyn Monroe’s old dressing room. You can feel the history of the place.

She also revealed the guest stars record their voice parts separately and, sadly, unlike Chief Wiggum aren’t chowing down donuts.

Cat even got a memento of her time on The Simpsons – a cel (a copy of the drawing) of her character.

In season 26 episode 27, Cat voices a TV host who fronts a show to find Duffman’s successor after the original Duffman retires.

She bagged her role in The Simpsons nearly a decade after she began presenting So You Think You Can Dance in the US.

On This Morning, Cat also revealed she had a cameo role in Disney’s Shake It Up alongside Zendaya before she was a household name.

Cat said she still exchanges texts with the Challengers star, adding: ‘She was lovely then and she’s lovely now.’

Her This Morning co-host Ben Shephard, 49 also shared his glittering cameo appearances- including a 2002 episode of Friends.

In The One Where Rachel Is Late, Joey (Matt LeBlanc) takes Chandler (Matthew Perry) to his latest film premiere where he’s hounded by the world’s press, and in and among those reporters, fighting it out for a bit of Tribbiani, is Ben, who even made the credits as ‘Man With Microphone’.

However, Ben previously revealed the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment actually managed to offend Joey star Matt LeBlanc.

On Good Morning Britain, he said: ‘You can see that they’re actually doing their lines, and I actually leant out…

‘You can see Matt LeBlanc put out his hand and say, “Who’s that freak?”’

Other stars who had a guest role in Friends include Brad Pitt, who played Rachel’s (Jennifer Aniston) former classmate Will, Reese Witherspoon, who was Rachel’s youngest sister Jill, and Julia Roberts, Chandler’s love interest Susie.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
