An urgent recall has been issued for an air fryer which can easily overheat and catch fire.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards is warning users to stop using the Pro Breeze 2L Air Fryer due to a technical fault which could see the device burst into flames.

The air fryer overheats easily, leaving it vulnerable to fires, they said, urging customers to unplug the device from its power source and return the product.

The model, which is sold on Amazon, does not meet safety requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

The affected air fryer has a model number is AF-03-UK and barcode of 5060596022409, the 2L also has an Amazon barcode of X0014E52NJ.

All air fryers sold between September 2020 to February 2022, including the numbers 20061101, 20061102, 20101001, 20101002, 20120903, 21012603 and 21031540 have been recalled.

In a statement, Pro Breeze said: ‘Pro Breeze is recalling a specific model of air fryer due to a technical fault that can cause the electronics to overheat under certain conditions, posing a risk of fire.

‘Owners of the affected Air Fryer are requested to comply with the following safety notice. Pro Breeze asks all consumers to verify if their Air Fryer is subject to this safety measure.’

More than 2,000,000 air fryers were recalled previously for a fire risk discovered in their wiring.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada previously issued a recall for Cosori brand air fryers sold at a number of retailers from 2018 to December 2022.
