Woman’s ‘unforgivable’ actions on her friend’s wedding day meant she had to watch from the car --[Reported by Umva mag]

There are some things you just shouldn’t be late for – flights, weddings, and funerals.

But, of course, life does also get in the way as things outside of our control can take over.

And one woman learned that the hard way after she was late to her best friend’s wedding.

TikTokker Aqsa, who goes by @SincerelyAqsa, shared the story of how she was ten minutes late to the ceremony and had to watch the event from the car.

The poster shared a 40-second clip in the car with her husband which was filmed from the outdoor venue in Middleburg, Virginia.

The mum explained that the couple had a newborn who was sick which made them late.

Perhaps surprisingly, no blowout argument ensued. The bride understood, and even came over to greet the couple.

Aqsa wrote on the video: ‘So, so happy and excited for you. Please don’t kill me for being late’.

In another comment she explained why they didn’t rush to make it to the ceremony: ‘We stayed in the car so we wouldn’t cause any disruption.’

Viewers however, were not at all impressed with Aqsa’s tardiness.

Poster Alia Bou wrote: ‘It’s really not that hard to be on time though, especially for an occasion like this.’

User Sav said: ‘You had how many months to prepare????’ while Clarissa said: ‘Just don’t be late, hope it helps’.

Another, Kelsey Jackson, said: ‘As a wedding planner it’s so crazy to me how many people are late to weddings. I know life happens but it’s so awkward. It’s every single wedding there are two to five late guests that are trying to sneak in.’

Five tips to stop being late for everything

Always late? Sarah Romain, consumer champion at Late Space, an appointment booking app, previously shared her five top tips with Metro.co.uk.

‘Make it part of your routine to plan the night before,’ says Sarah. ‘Instead of rushing around in the morning, establish an evening routine where you reflect on the day you’ve just had and then prepare for the next day ahead.

Another tip is: ‘Try to over-estimate, adding at least 25-50% more time than you think is needed’.

And account for transition activities: ‘Many of us forget to account for transition activities when scheduling appointments or planning our days. We often give ourselves just enough time to jump from one task to another, but it’s important to account for the time in between each task if your schedule is back to back.

Finally, adapt your schedule: ‘Perhaps the main reason why being on time is such a struggle, is because you aren’t managing your time effectively,’ Sarah notes. ‘Look to more flexible ways of scheduling last minute appointments when you do have free time.’

Aqsa replied to some of the comments adding in some context. She explained: ‘My daughter threw up on the way to the wedding. So even planning two hours ahead we still ran late. We decided to stay in the car to not disturb the family or her entrance’.

Others weren’t buying it though. E.S wrote: ‘Sorry, but if my actual bff was getting married the baby would be dropped off in advance so I could 100% be there (p.s also a parent)’.

Another said it was simply an unforgivable thing to do: ‘Sorry I’d never forgive my best friend for that and wouldn’t expect her to vice versa.’

Some people did defend Aqsa though, saying her choice was ‘respectful’. Poster Consuela said: ‘The comments are not it. I think it’s awesome you respected her moment and waited and also look how happy she is to see you, she gets it’.

And Kaylon added: ‘Very mindful, very demure! I had a guest WALK DOWN THE AISLE between the groomsmen entrances.’

Meanwhile Nancy added: ‘People are harsh in the comments. Honestly life happens. I think it’s so cute you got a unique view and a cute video.’
