Ever fancied living like the stars? You can now do just that as one 80s music legend has placed their house up for rent for a staggering £65,000 per month.

Boy George rose to fame as the lead singer of Culture Club, known for hits like Karma Chameleon, Do You Really Want To Hurt Me and Love Is Love – and now, he’s reportedly searching for a tenant for his five-bedroom property in Hampstead.

As Julia Garber at estate agents Robert Irving Burns tells the Evening Standard, the singer is now looking to rent out his home after 40 years of owning it, having bought it in the 1980s after the band first enjoyed commercial success.

Having put the home on the market in November 2022 for £17 million, Julia notes that he received ‘some very good offers’ on it but ultimately decided to turn it down, adding that ‘whether we sell it or whether we rent it, he’s happy with both. He’s very relaxed. He’s not under any pressure whatsoever.’

So, why is the pop star looking to rent it out? As Julia adds, he’s ‘ridiculously busy travelling at the moment’ and, as such, ‘he’s hardly ever there.’

Wondering what you might get for your money if you become the lucky tenant? The Gothic-style property, nestled in the heart of Hampstead on Well Road, was first built in 1868.

According to the agents, it’s a grade II-listed villa and spans over 5,400 square feet – so you certainly won’t be short of space.

It’s also available either furnished or unfurnished, so prospective tenants are welcome to bring their own spin to the interior design – or retain the very same details.

As the pictures show, the house is currently still adorned with some of Boy George’s own artwork, including two paintings called Claire and Deeply Flawed, both of which displayed at his Aliens and Icons exhibition.

What’s more, you’ll be inheriting a stunning view of Hampstead Heath, famed for its panoramic views of the London skyline from locations including Parliament Hill, its bathing ponds and its lengthy history, most notably seen through the art collection exhibited at Kenwood House.

The home hasn’t just been inhabited by Boy George either: as the listing notes, it was once the humble abode of actor and comedian Marty Feldman, as well as fellow musician Sam Smith.
