An actor who starred in one of the most beloved sitcoms of the 90s now looks completely unrecognisable.

From 1989 to 1998 Jason Alexander starred along Jerry Seinfeld in the series Seinfleld.

It followed a semi-fictionalised version of the lead star’s life with his close friends, with more than 76million viewers tuning in for the final episode.

Across all nine seasons Jason played the often lazy and insecure George Costanza, who was an old high school friend of Jerry.

The show – which was created by Jerry and Larry David – also starred Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine) and Michael Richards (Cosmo Kramer).

During his time on the show Jason was nominated for a string of awards, including seven consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series and four Golden Globe Awards for best supporting actor in television.

Throughout his career Jason has also appeared in The Nanny, Friends, Malcolm in The Middle, The Simpsons and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Despite his extensive film and TV credits and also appearing in one of the most popular shows of all time, Jason flew completely under the radar during a recent outing.

This week the actor was photographed walking through a parking lot a few days after celebrating his 65th birthday.

Jason, who wore a pair of black pants paired with a plaid shirt and purple vest, was seen exiting Starbucks while carrying a warm drink and a snack in his other hand.

During his time on the series Jason was always freshly shaven and while he’s grown a beard in recent years, many would have done a double take after seeing him with longer facial hair.

Earlier this year he joked about how his ageing appearance prevented him being ‘mobbed by fans’.

‘I’ve aged badly, that’s why people don’t bother me,’ he told Page Six.

However, he did say people were ‘very sweet’ when they got recognised.

‘And it’s generally a salute and a wave and a ‘Hey, Jason!’ kind of thing,’ he explained.

‘I am very fortunate that people like my work and they seem to want to show their appreciation, but I can still live my life. Not everybody can do that, but I can.’

Despite loyal fans still loving Seinfeld, last year Jason had a savage response to reboot rumours.

‘There is only one reason for that rumour. Apparently, at the end of some stand-up thing, [Jerry] went, “Larry [David] and I are thinking of something,” he told Extra.

‘Good for you. I don’t know anything about it…No one called me. Apparently, they don’t need George and they may not need Elaine ’cause Julia [Louis-Dreyfus] and I went, “Do you know anything about this? I don’t know anything about this”.’

He added: ‘And I just talked to Michael [Richards] the other day and I don’t think he knew anything about it.’

In recent years Kason has appeared in Star Trek: Prodigy, History of the World, Pat II and Rock, Paper, Scissors and will soon appear in a production of Fiddler On The Roof in LA.

Seinfeld is streaming on Netflix.
