Morning travel chaos on trains and roads after flooding caused by heavy rain --[Reported by Umva mag]

There is major disruption on the rails and roads this morning after heavy rain caused flash flooding last night.

There were yellow weather warnings in place for rain across the west of the UK yesterday, bringing thunderstorms and lightning along for the ride.

Commuters are waking up to severe flooding across a number of routes on the Transport for Wales network this morning, causing delays of up to an hour and cancellations across Wales.

There has also been flooding in the Wolverhampton area, blocking railway lines there.

On the roads, the A49 in Shropshire is closed in both directions due to the flood water.

The road is blocked between the B4368 near Craven Arms and the B4371 near Church Stretton, and traffic is being diverted via local roads.
