Morocco hosts 2nd Cultural, Creative Industries Summit --[Reported by Umva mag]

Opening in early October of the 2nd edition of the Cultural and Creative Industries Summit (CCI), a sector recognised worldwide as a major economic force, generating more than $2 trillion in revenue and 50 million jobs worldwide.

Rabat will host the second edition of the Cultural and Creative Industries Summit (CCI) on October 2 and 3, under the theme “Celebrating Heritage, Investing in Progress”.

The event aims to explore the future of the CCI sector in Morocco, which is not only a driver of job creation and economic growth, but also a key contributor to the cultural identity of the kingdom.

Jointly organised by the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Federation of Cultural and Creative Industries of the CGEM, and supported by the European Union, the summit will focus on governance, financing, digital transformation and the role of heritage in promoting the CCI sector.

“The government is committed to developing this sector, which has the potential to create direct and indirect jobs,” said Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Morocco’s Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication.

Bensaid stressed the government’s commitment to building a robust CCI ecosystem that fosters innovation and sustainable growth.

Neïla Tazi, president of the Federation of Cultural and Creative Industries, echoed these sentiments, highlighting Morocco’s opportunities to harness digital advances and a thriving cultural heritage.

“We must act quickly to capitalise on these trends and ensure the sector’s success,” Tazi said.

The CCI sector is recognised globally as a major economic force, generating over $2 trillion in revenue and 50 million jobs worldwide.

For Morocco, with its cultural wealth and entrepreneurial spirit, the goal is to position itself as a continental leader in this dynamic sector.

The summit will feature five key panels, covering topics such as public-private partnerships, innovative financing, tourism and the role of artificial intelligence in transforming creative professions.
