Queen drummer Roger Taylor has hinted the band could be creating new music in the future.

The 70s rock band haven’t released an album since Made In Heaven in 1995, following Freddie Mercury’s death in 1991.

The band have still been touring with Adam Lambert taking the lead, and released a lost song featuring Mercury in 2022, which had been first recorded 34 years ago.

However, new music could possibly be on the way after Roger, 75, revealed a conversation with Sir Brian May.

When asked if fans will ever hear new Queen music again, the Radio Ga Ga hitmaker said: ‘Well, I think you might! Brian and myself were talking the other day, and we both said that if we feel we have some good material, why not?

‘We can still play. We can still sing. So I don’t see why not.’

Speaking of his solo tour in 2021, The Outsider Live tour, and his plans for a further solo album or tour, Roger added to Uncut: ‘The tour was great, it was very fulfilling.

‘I really enjoyed the shows and I had a great little band.

‘So I’d like to do that again sometime, if and when I can get enough material for something that makes sense musically.’

Adam joined forces with Queen on American Idol in 2009 before becoming a more permanent member from 2011.

More than a decade after he joined though, Sir Brian, 77, said that the trio didn’t have time for ‘studio action’.

He told Variety in a 2022 interview: ‘The new music thing? I’ve got to tell you it hasn’t happened yet, but we do bring the subject up.

‘Generally, when we are together, the live show is all-consuming. There isn’t really time to discuss any studio action. We feel as if the live stuff is what the public wants.

‘And when we’re not on tour, Adam has his own career — he just gave me some stuff that he’s working on for his next album, and it’s remarkable.

‘So, I suppose that the opportunity to make an album together doesn’t come up, but I’m not saying that it couldn’t happen.’
