Prime Minister Mickoski attended a working lunch with von der Leyen and colleagues from the Western Balkans --[Reported by Umva mag]

Brussels – Prime Minister Christian Mickoski, who is on a working visit to Brussels, attended a working lunch organized by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, together with other leaders from the Western Balkans countries today.

In a post on the platform X after the meeting, von der Leyen stated that all six partner countries from the Western Balkans belong to Europe.

– That is what we are working on. At the same time, we are bringing their economies and markets closer to ours with our Growth Plan of 6 billion euros for the region, von der Leyen stated in the post.

Main topics of the working lunch were mutual cooperation and the European Commission’s Western Balkans Growth Plan, within which a Growth and Reform Instrument worth six billion euros has been formed, intended for reforms and projects related to the socio-economic sphere and fundamental rights.

Besides Mickoski, the working lunch with von der Leyen was also attended by the Prime Ministers of Albania, Edi Rama, of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

This afternoon in Brussels, Mickoski will also have meetings with the President of the EU Council, Charles Michel, the European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Oliver Varhelyi, and the head of the Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), Gert Jan Koopman.

During the visit to Brussels, the Prime Minister is accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucincki and for European Affairs Orhan Murtezani. (September 19)
