Dramane Coulibaly, president of the ALA and general manager of the National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire (LONACI), emphasized the significance of the meeting in paving the way for Nigeria, Mauritius, and South Africa to join the association.

“The Executive Committee’s gathering serves as a preparatory step for the General Assembly,” Coulibaly stated during the opening remarks. With the addition of these three new members, the ALA is poised to expand its membership to 18.

The association’s leadership, comprising a president, five vice-presidents, a secretary general, and an executive committee, was elected in 2020 for a four-year term. Dramane Coulibaly was reappointed to his position in March 2024.

The ALA’s objectives include fostering cooperation, solidarity, and technical assistance among its members, promoting responsible gaming, and combating financial crimes such as money laundering. To achieve these goals, the leaders of the participating lottery companies established the association.
