Carol Vorderman has won Rear of the Year twice, having made headlines with her pert posterior time and time again.

However, the former Countdown star has now made a sad admission about her arguably iconic derrière.

Carol, now 63, first won the award in 2011, along with Strictly’s Anton Du Beke, before scooping the title for a second time in 2014, alongside Olly Murs.

When she became the first star to earn the title twice, Carol joked: ‘I always suspected there were a lot of people out there who were glad to see the back of me. It now appears there were even more than I thought.’

Alas, the stunning TV presenter no longer feels confident in her own skin.

During an interview with Saga Magazine for their 40th birthday issue, she was asked what her relationship with her body is like now.

Carol answered truthfully: ‘I’m not happy with my body now. My bum has dropped. I’m at the upper end of my weight.’

‌Following the release of her debut political book, Now What? On a Mission to Fix Broken Britain, she added: ‘I haven’t been to the gym for months because of the book and because I’ve also had a knee issue which has been giving me problems.

‌’Basically, the oil around the joints went, so I’ve had two hyaluronic acid injections. The first one didn’t work but the second one did.’

Despite not feeling 100% in herself, Carol continues to wear what makes her feel good, repeatedly provoking heart-eye reactions from her fans in skin-tight ensembles, whether it be catsuits or pencil skirts.

Asked for a message to those criticising her for wearing bikinis in her sixties, she stated defiantly: ‘Oh, I don’t give a toss about what people say about how I look.’

Carol also dished out her secrets for staying in shape, telling fellow women that she ‘wears a good bra and jeans that hold [her] up’ to maintain her hourglass figure.

She also works out for 45 minutes three times per week, which she ‘loves’.

‌’Lots of squats for the bum,’ she declared, revealing that her diet – rather surprisingly – includes raw Brussels sprouts…

‘I generally carry a bag on me.’

Elsewhere in the interview, Carol, who posed for a series of powerful photographs, spoke about politics, having never shied away from speaking her mind and holding the government to account.

Alas, she admitted that being so outspoken is ‘career suicide’.

‘The big television executives don’t like people – particularly a woman – giving their opinions,’ she confessed.

Remaining true to herself and passionate about her beliefs, though, Carol doesn’t ‘give a flying fig’, having felt inspired to start utilising her platform in the aftermath of the pandemic.

‘What we all went through, then in 2022 we had to listen to the lies about the parties, the millions given to friends in PPE contracts. The damage done to the public, the NHS, the country.’

Carol has repeatedly been praised for being vocal when it comes to current issues, having been instrumental in tactical voting to get the Tory party out in the last General Election.

She’s appeared on TV chat shows and comedy panel programmes with many ‘savage’ rants, and frequently posts about politics to her 626,000 Instagram followers.

Last December, Carol made a blistering vow against Tories in government as she told Sunday Brunch on Channel 4: ‘For the next year, I’m devoting myself to the election and getting rid of as many Tories as possible.’

In the months since, she’s been forced to brush off jibes from members of the Conservative Party, with the likes of Johnny Mercer taking a swipe by branding her ‘lonely’.

Nevertheless, it doesn’t look like Carol will be stepping down from her campaigning duties anytime soon, having even taken on a career move to allow her to continue speaking out.

Earlier this year, she revealed that she would be departing her BBC radio show following the introduction of social media guidelines.
