National carrier Kenya Airways has unveiled an office at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) to handle government and private sector executive customers.

Dubbed the Asante Executive Hub, the office’s strategic location is pitted to position Kenya as the preferred destination for international meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.

The hub situated at the ground floor of the KICC will serve government officials and executives such as diplomats, heads of States and conference delegates.

Transport PS Mohamed Daghar cuts ribbon to unveil Asante Business Hub at the KICC. Looking on is KQ CEO Allan Kilavuka alongside other officials.

“This hub is more than just a service center; it is a strategic move to support our market share in government and executive travel sectors,” said KQ chief executive Allan Kilavuka during unveiling of the first phase of the hub.

He noted the executive hub highlights KQ’s broader vision of transforming the travel experience of key decision makers, who represent the future of Kenya’s growth and development.

Some of the top-tier services that customers at the new office will enjoy include Competitive pricing and discounts, a dedicated personnel for travel booking interventions, customer support as well as financial conciliation for accountability and transparency.

“We intend to use the new standard on how government travel is managed in Kenya, with attention to convenience, safety, priority and a dedicated customer care service,” he said.

KICC chief executive James Mwaura noted the collaborative partnership with KQ will benefit the whole country through tourism, positively impacting the economy.

“Key areas and scope of cooperating between KQ and the KICC will be sourcing for key markets, bidding for international events and regional conferences, implementing the modalities of delegate boosting, strategies, initiatives and holiday packages” he said.

The partnership comes on the back of a recent win by Kenya to chair the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) African chapter.

This prestigious role is set to benefit the country as it will allow Kenya to influence and shape the direction of ICAA across the continent.

In phase two of the Ahsante Executive Hub, KQ targets to evolve the facility into a fully accredited IATA Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) entity which will broaden the scope of services to include ticketing for both Kenya Airways and other airlines.

In addition to this, KQ will expand into an executive charter services and advanced online travel management making Asante executive hub a one stop solution for government and private sector executive travel.

Transport Principal Secretary Mohamed Daghar lauded the partnership between KQ and the KICC noting the executive hub is a symbol of strategic thinking in travel management.

“This hub further underscores KQ’s role as a pioneering force in the global travel sector and highlights its continued drive for excellence,” he said when he officiated the unveiling event.
