Crash closes M61 while trains are delayed at major London station --[Reported by Umva mag]

Travellers face delays across UK roads and railways after a crash has shut part of the M61 and issues at London Waterloo station.

The M61 in Lancashire is closed southbound between junctions 6 and 8 after a collision close to the Rivington services just after midnight. The carriageway will remain shut until further notice due to investigative work and National Highways has put diversions in place.

In Cumbria, five people have been killed after a crash on the M6 yesterday. Two children are among the dead while a third child is fighting for life in the hospital.

Elsewhere, trains between London Waterloo and Wimbledon are plagued by cancellations and delays after a signalling issue is wreaking havoc on South Western Railway services.
