BRAMPTON ERUPTS: Shots Fired, Attacks Unleashed, Teen Behind Chaos!

A 26-year-old man from Toronto now faces serious charges after a brazen shooting at a Brampton business last summer. In the early hours of July 8th, two individuals arrived at a commercial property near Rutherford Road and Steeles Avenue, unleashing a volley of gunfire into the building.

The pair didn't hesitate, immediately fleeing the scene in a vehicle that had been reported stolen. Peel Regional Police launched a thorough investigation, meticulously piecing together the events of that night and pursuing every lead.

Months later, on January 9th, their efforts culminated in a search warrant being executed at a Toronto address. Inside, investigators discovered a loaded, illegally obtained handgun, directly linking a suspect to the crime.

Tray Clarke, 26, of Toronto.

Tray Clarke is now charged with five firearm offences, alongside charges of possessing stolen property and mischief exceeding $5,000. The charges reflect the severity of the incident and the potential danger posed to the community.

Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah made a firm statement, emphasizing that such acts of violence will not be tolerated within Peel Region. He praised the dedication of his officers in removing the weapon from the streets and ensuring accountability.

In a separate incident, a 49-year-old Toronto man is accused of assaulting demonstrators during a protest near Pape and Danforth Avenues. The altercation began with a verbal dispute before escalating into physical violence.

The man allegedly attacked a demonstrator with a handheld speaker, and when a second individual attempted to intervene and de-escalate the situation, they too were assaulted. Omer Lifshitz now faces two counts of assault with a weapon.

Meanwhile, in Hamilton, a 14-year-old from Ottawa has been charged with public mischief in connection with a disturbing series of “swatting” incidents. This dangerous practice involves making false emergency calls to trigger a massive police response.

Between December and recently, Hamilton Police responded to seven such calls, each reporting fabricated scenarios of severe crimes – domestic violence, shootings, even homicides – at residential addresses. These calls wasted valuable resources and put lives at risk.

Detectives traced the calls back to Ottawa, executing a search warrant and seizing multiple electronic devices. The teen, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, now faces the consequences of their actions.
