A wave of transformation is sweeping through the world of small-ship cruising. Azamara, a line celebrated for its intimate voyages and access to hidden corners of the globe, is embarking on a comprehensive fleet-wide renovation project, dubbed “Azamara Forward.” This isn’t just a refresh; it’s a reimagining of the entire onboard experience.
For years, Azamara has distinguished itself by venturing beyond the typical cruise routes. Imagine waking up in Zanzibar, Tanzania, or exploring the vibrant streets of Busan, South Korea – destinations often overlooked by larger vessels. The focus has always been on immersive experiences, lingering longer in port to truly connect with a destination’s culture and soul.
“Azamara Forward” represents the most ambitious undertaking in the company’s history. Every stateroom and suite will be meticulously updated, bathed in a calming palette inspired by the endless sky and the deep blue ocean. Public spaces, restrooms, and even the spa will receive significant enhancements, promising a new level of comfort and sophistication.
The culinary landscape is also undergoing a dramatic evolution. The Atlas Bar, a guest favorite introduced on Azamara Onward, will now grace every ship in the fleet. But the true star will be the revamped Chef’s Table, a private, panoramic restaurant offering themed menus inspired by the regions visited, curated by destination-focused guest chefs, and showcasing the freshest local ingredients.
Azamara Quest will lead the charge, emerging from its makeover just in time for its highly anticipated 2027 World Cruise – the line’s most extensive yet, spanning 37 countries over an incredible 188 nights. The initial unveiling of the renovations will occur on a December 2026 Panama Canal cruise, promising a taste of the future.
But the innovation doesn’t stop there. Azamara Quest will also introduce the all-new Penthouse Deck, positioned above the existing Sun Deck. This exclusive space will house ten Grandview Suites and two ultra-luxurious Panorama Suites, offering breathtaking 270-degree ocean views and the ultimate in opulent accommodations, complete with walk-in closets and dedicated butler service.
This transformation is happening under the leadership of new CEO Dondra Ritzenthaler, who emphasizes that “Azamara Forward” is the result of years of listening to guests and travel professionals. It’s a commitment to deepening destination immersion, elevating comfort, and creating unforgettable moments at sea – a celebration of the brand’s heritage while boldly stepping into the future.
Following the Quest’s debut, Azamara Onward will undergo renovations in 2027, with Azamara Journey and Azamara Pursuit to follow, ensuring that every ship in the fleet embodies this new era of refined, immersive travel.
