ARSON TERROR: Couple Torched Home FOUR Times!

A quiet Hamilton neighborhood became the target of a chilling series of events, as a home was deliberately set ablaze not once, but four times within a little over a month. The first flames erupted on December 13th in the Stipley area, immediately raising suspicions among local authorities.

What began as a single, unsettling incident quickly escalated into a pattern of calculated destruction. Investigators soon discovered that both the house and a nearby outbuilding were intentionally ignited on three subsequent dates – December 14th, December 23rd, and January 12th.

The repeated attacks left a trail of devastation, racking up an estimated $100,000 in damages. Each fire was a deliberate act, meticulously planned and executed, turning a family’s home into a scene of recurring terror.

A focused investigation led police to execute a search warrant at a residence on Hamilton Mountain, hoping to uncover the source of this escalating threat. The search yielded crucial evidence, bringing the investigation to a critical turning point.

On Friday, authorities announced the arrest of Nicholas Tomsetti, 28, of Hamilton, who faces four counts each of arson and possession of incendiary materials, alongside two counts of break and enter. He is currently being held, with police actively opposing his release on bail.

Alongside Tomsetti, Kayla Harris, 23, of Hamilton, was also charged with arson and possession of incendiary materials. Like Tomsetti, authorities are seeking to deny her bail, recognizing the gravity of the alleged offenses.

Investigators have stressed that the arsons appear to be specifically targeted, focused solely on this single location. There is currently no indication of a wider pattern or threat to other properties in the area, offering a measure of reassurance to the community.

The investigation remains active, with detectives continuing to gather evidence and explore all possible avenues. Authorities have indicated that further charges may be forthcoming as the case unfolds.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is urged to contact Detective Constable Chad Doan or Detective Greg Blunsdon. Those wishing to remain anonymous can reach out to Crime Stoppers, providing a safe and confidential way to contribute to the ongoing investigation.
