There’s nothing quite like a McDonald’s breakfast.

Whether you’re hungover, or just hungry, from McMuffins to the Breakfast Wrap, what’s not to love?

In fact, we’ll never quite get over the fact that you can’t get a Maccies breakie past 11am.

And now, the fast-food giant is launching a brand new breakfast item, that’s a twist on a ‘god tier’ product: mini hash browns.

That’s right, you can now get your beloved hash brown in a throw-in-your-mouth-and-eat-20 size.

Available in a single portion (that’s five for £1.49) or a sharebox (15 for £2.99), they’ll be available to customers from October 16.

McDonald’s said: ‘Perfect for those who love the classic McDonald’s Hash Brown, these little delights bring the same golden crunch and fluffy potato goodness in a new and fun style.

‘Each Mini Hash Brown is made to deliver the same irresistible crispy exterior and soft, fluffy interior that we have all come to love.’

And judging by how much fans love the original sized hash brown, these easy-to-enjoy mini alternatives are bound to popular.

‘McDonald’s has the best hash brown in the world. Don’t argue with me,’ wrote one passionate X user.

While another added: ‘McDonald’s hash browns are GOD TIER breakfast fodder.’

And a third said: ‘I would actually crumble if McDonald’s hash browns didn’t exist, I would eat one every hour if I could.’

We couldn’t agree more.

You’ll be able to get your hands on the hashies in restaurants and McDelivery.

Fans of the McDonald’s breakfast are having a great year. At the start of 2024, after years of pleading, the Breakfast Wrap returned to menus.

Is the McRib returning?

McDonald’s ‘accidentally’ teased the return of the sorely missed McRib over the weekend – and now, fans are convinced it’s making a comeback.

Those with the McDonald’s app were surprised to see a notification that popped up with the word ‘McRib’ and naturally people got excited.

At 9am on Sunday 22, smartphone users with notifications enabled received the cryptic message which read ‘McRib_Test.notification_16.10.24 [TEST]’.

But when excited foodies clicked on the notification, it led to a web page with a 404 error screen.

Fans, however, think it was a deliberate gimmick by McDonald’s to release the return of the burger.

They were further vindicated when the text below the screen read: ‘There is definitely currently no reason for this page to not exist. Probably.’

The McRib was first launched in 1981 and had a good run until it was discontinued four years later.

It was last seen in the UK in 2014, but the burger – filled with a pork patty drenched in Western BBQ sauce, along with pickles and onions – has remained so popular that it even has its own website, the McRib locator, dedicated to branches of McDonald’s where it has recently been seen.

It has come and gone through the years and fans think it could soon be back again.

The popular product was axed in 2020 due to lockdown restrictions before it was confirmed it was gone for good in 2022, with customers begging for it to be reinstated on social media ever since.

And after over 5,000 DMs, ‘too many tweets to count’, and 83 separate petitions on Change.org, McDonald’s finally got the message, and it made a comeback in February 2024.

In fact, its relaunch was so popular, that it was temporarily axed once more, after just two days, because the ‘unprecedented demand’ meant the chain was running out of breakfast ingredients, needed for other items.
