Thomas Tuchel addressed the media for the first time as England’s new manager having been hired to to replace Gareth Southgate.

The German becomes just England’s third foreign manager in history and addressed fans for the first time at a press conference today.

Tuchel previously managed Chelsea between 2021 and 2022, helping the west Londoners clinch the Champions League, Club World Cup and Super Cup.

The 51-year-old, considered by many to be an elite manager, has also previously been in charge of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain.

Tuchel’s appointment has not attracted universal praise due to his German roots, but the former Bayern coach sought to ease any concerns, while addressing questions over whether or not he will sign the national anthem.
