Pop stars Charli XCX and Madonna were spotted smoking cigarettes together at the Saint Laurent menswear spring/summer 2027 show in Paris, but not everyone was thrilled by their antics.
The pair, who have seemingly put feud rumors to bed with their cozy appearance at Paris Fashion Week, were filmed chatting, posing for photos, and puffing on long, dark cigarettes. However, actress Debi Mazar, 61, appeared visibly unimpressed by the smoke drifting in her direction.
In a clip that has now gone viral online, Mazar can be seen waving away the smoke before grimacing and asking, with what many fans interpreted as restrained disgust: 'Are those cloves?' Charli XCX replied, 'These are Djarum,' seemingly referring to Djarum Black clove cigarettes.
The exchange quickly sparked debate online, with many viewers sympathizing with Mazar's reaction. 'This would be my reaction too... cigarettes are disgusting, especially indoors,' one person wrote. Another agreed, 'Smoking publicly is so stupid! I mean, sure it's your body, but pls don't make it other's problem.'
However, not everyone was critical of the smoking snap. Some fans found it 'beautiful' and a sign that the world is 'healing.' Others defended the pair, arguing that they were only smoking for a photo op.
The viral moment comes after weeks of speculation that Madonna and Charli had fallen out following the release of Charli's recent single Rock Music. The pair appear to have firmly shut down any feud rumors, laughing together at the Saint Laurent show and dancing side-by-side to Madonna classics at an after-party.
