Credit Card Holders Urged to Redeem Mid-Year Benefits Before June 30 to Avoid Loss

Credit Card Holders Urged to Redeem Mid-Year Benefits Before June 30 to Avoid Loss

The summer months are here, and with them come the expiration dates for several statement credits on popular credit cards. Maximizing these credits is a great way to offset the high annual fees associated with these cards. Cardholders who fail to use their credits by the end of the month may be left wishing they had acted sooner.

One of the most popular cards with expiration dates is the American Express Platinum Card. Cardholders who have this card can earn up to $300 in statement credits biannually on prepaid American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection bookings. This credit can be used for hotel stays and incidentals, but it must be booked through American Express Travel and paid with the Amex Platinum card.

Additionally, the Amex Platinum card offers up to $100 statement credit per quarter for Resy and up to $75 statement credit per quarter for Lululemon. These credits can be used at eligible U.S. Resy restaurants and Lululemon stores, respectively. Enrollment is required for these benefits, and cardholders must pay with their Amex Platinum card to receive the credits.

Cardholders who have the Amex Gold Card can also earn up to $50 statement credit biannually for Resy. This credit is similar to the one offered by the Amex Platinum card and can be used at eligible U.S. Resy restaurants.

The Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card also has two expiring benefits. Cardholders can earn up to $200 in Hilton Resorts statement credits biannually and up to $50 in flight statement credits per quarter. These credits can be used for hotel bookings and flights, respectively.

The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card offers up to $60 in Hilton statement credits per quarter, while the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass Card offers up to $50 in Hilton statement credits per quarter.

Finally, the Bilt Palladium Card offers up to $200 in Bilt Travel hotel statement credits biannually, while the Bilt Obsidian Card offers up to $50 in Bilt Travel hotel statement credits biannually. These credits can be used for hotel bookings made through the Bilt Travel portal.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve card has two expiring statement credits. Cardholders can earn up to $150 in StubHub and Viagogo statement credits biannually and up to $150 in statement credits for dining at Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables via OpenTable biannually. These credits can be used for event tickets and dining reservations, respectively.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business card offers up to $200 in ZipRecruiter statement credits biannually and up to $50 in Giftcards.com statement credits biannually. These credits can be used for purchases made through ZipRecruiter and Giftcards.com, respectively.

The Citi Strata Elite Card offers up to $100 in Blacklane statement credits biannually. This credit can be used for Blacklane chauffeur bookings.

Maximizing statement credits is a great way to offset the high annual fees associated with these cards. Cardholders who fail to use their credits by the end of the month may be left wishing they had acted sooner.
