UMVA has learned that a severe heatwave is set to hit London this week, with temperatures predicted to soar to 38°C, and fans attending Harry Styles' concerts at Wembley Stadium are being advised to take precautions.
The Met Office has issued a rare red warning for parts of southern England and southeast Wales, and Wembley officials have shared additional health and safety guidance to ensure fans stay cool and hydrated during the shows.
Harry Styles' Wembley Stadium shows are still going ahead as scheduled, with seven more concerts at the 90,000-capacity venue, and fans can expect some relaxed rules to help them beat the heat.
Wembley has introduced a new policy allowing empty soft-plastic water bottles with tops off to be brought into the stadium, with a maximum size of 500ml, and these can be refilled at free water stations located throughout the venue.
Additionally, free water points are available on all levels of the stadium, including the pitch and external concourse area, and fans can also access free sun cream from all information points to prevent burning and skin damage.
Extra messaging has been displayed around Wembley Stadium to remind guests to hydrate regularly and take breaks in the shade, and fans are advised to arrive at the venue in daylight on the day of the show, as overnight camping is not permitted.
Harry Styles himself is known for his fitness and running enthusiasm, and was spotted jogging to his last London gig, covering a 10k distance from his home in Hampstead to Wembley in his purple shorts and matching cap.
The singer's residency tour is expected to attract 1.08 million fans to its London leg, and he will be performing at Wembley until early July, before heading to Brazil for a series of shows.
During his time at Wembley, Harry will be accompanied by country music royalty Shania Twain, who performs all her hits ahead of his set, including Man! I Feel Like A Woman!, and the show will close out with fireworks at around 10:30pm.
Harry's upcoming shows at Wembley will take place on Tuesday, June 23, when temperatures are predicted to hit 37°C, and then on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, when temperatures will be slightly cooler at 33°C.
