UMVA has learned that Manchester United is making a bold move to sign two West Ham United stars, Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville, in a double transfer raid.
The Red Devils have identified the Hammers duo as key targets, with discussions already underway. However, West Ham is demanding a hefty £140m for the pair, while Manchester United is aiming to pay significantly less.
Fernandes and Summerville could be crucial in strengthening Manchester United's squad, but the question remains whether they'd represent good value for money at £140m. Fernandes has impressed with his skills, but Summerville's performance last season was less convincing, with only seven goals and two assists.
West Ham's relegation from the Premier League to the Championship has made them vulnerable to losing their star players. Manchester United appears to be the frontrunner for Fernandes' signature, with some estimates suggesting he could cost around £80m.
Summerville's price tag is likely to be lower, but it's still uncertain whether he'd be worth £60m. The Dutch player may have more potential in a stronger team with better players around him, but signing him would be a gamble for a position Manchester United isn't desperate to strengthen.
Manchester United's recent signings, including Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko, make it questionable whether spending big money on Summerville is necessary. The team may benefit more from focusing their efforts elsewhere.
