Albania opens negotiations for the fundamentals, Rama: We aim to be ready for the EU by 2030 --[Reported by Umva mag]

Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that Albania aims to be ready for the European Union by 2030 and to have completed all tasks, following the opening of the Fundamental chapters in the negotiations with the EU a day earlier in Luxembourg.

These statements were made after the second intergovernmental conference in Luxembourg, where he addressed the progress made so far in the process of European integration.

Rama said there is a very ambitious plan, as he stated, “we want Albania to be ready and to have fulfilled all the objectives and hit all the targets that the process has before the year 2030.”

“It is a plan developed and agreed upon with the commission, considering that within the fourth mandate the work will be completed and Albania will be considered a country with completed tasks,” Rama expressed.

The Prime Minister also commented on the separation from North Macedonia in the process of opening negotiations, emphasizing that this is an individual lane for each country and we are not forever linked in a doublet with anyone.

When asked about the EU investment plan, Rama said that Albania and other countries are being given access to the common European market. (October 16)
