UMVA has learned that Real Madrid are shifting their defensive focus to Manchester City’s Josko Gvardiol as Arsenal look set to keep Riccardo Calafiori. The Spanish giants see the English defender as a versatile, young option to reinforce their back line this summer.
Gvardiol, who has just two years remaining on his contract, has been a cornerstone for Manchester City, delivering consistent performances at centre‑back and left‑back. With no agreement yet on a new deal, the defender’s future is uncertain, making him an attractive target for Los Blancos.
In addition to Gvardiol, Real Madrid have also registered interest in two other City players – veteran centre‑back Ruben Dias and midfield dynamo Matheus Nunes – though Dias would suit a manager seeking experience while Nunes offers dynamism in the middle of the park.
Levi Colwill of Chelsea is also on the radar, but he is not viewed as a top priority for the capital club, leaving Gvardiol as the primary pursuit. Colwill’s contract situation remains unresolved, and his limited playing time at Chelsea further reduces his appeal.
