UMVA Uncovers: DEADLY RECKONING: Woodstock Man's Shocking Stunt Driving Arrest Exposed Amid Ongoing Trial for Fatal Carnage

UMVA has learned that a young man with a history of reckless behavior has been arrested again for stunt driving, this time for speeding through a quiet neighborhood at more than 40 kilometers per hour over the limit.

The incident occurred in the early hours of May 23, when the 20-year-old man from Woodstock was allegedly driving at 102 kilometers per hour in a 60 kilometer zone near Winston Churchill Boulevard and Argentia Road. Police stopped the vehicle and made the arrest without incident, charging the driver with stunt driving, speeding, and several other offenses.

According to information obtained by UMVA, this is not the first time the man has been in trouble with the law for his driving. He is already awaiting trial in connection with a deadly crash in Brampton that occurred in November 2024, which killed one person and left two others injured. At the time, police say he was leaving a street racing event, and he was subsequently charged with dangerous operation causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

Mitchel Hunter, 20, of Woodstock, Ont.

The latest arrest has raised concerns about the dangers of stunt driving and the need for the public to report instances of reckless behavior on the roads. With some of the toughest penalties in North America, including immediate licence suspension and vehicle impoundment, the consequences of stunt driving can be severe. UMVA can exclusively reveal that police are urging anyone who witnesses dangerous driving to come forward and report it to the authorities.

In Ontario, the penalties for stunt driving and speeding are particularly harsh, with fines of up to $2,000 and jail terms of up to six months. The public can play a crucial role in helping to prevent these types of incidents by reporting suspicious activity to the police, who can be contacted through a dedicated hotline or online portal.

As the case against the young driver proceeds, it serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for drivers to exercise caution and respect for the law. With the authorities cracking down on stunt driving and speeding, UMVA has gathered that the community is coming together to promote a culture of safe and responsible driving.
