RAMMING ATTACKER UNMASKED: Derby Chaos Suspect EXPOSED!

A quiet Saturday night in Derby shattered as a car careened into pedestrians on Friar Gate, leaving a trail of chaos and injured individuals. The incident, unfolding under the city lights, quickly drew emergency services to the scene.

Sandhu Ponnachan, a 36-year-old man originally from India and now residing in Alvaston, Derby, was apprehended just seven minutes after the collision. The swift arrest followed a frantic scene of scattered belongings and urgent medical attention.

The courtroom was silent as Ponnachan appeared before Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court. He remained impassive, offering no outward reaction to the gravity of the accusations leveled against him.

Dressed in a simple grey T-shirt, jogging bottoms, and light blue footwear, Ponnachan only spoke to verify his identity and address. His demeanor offered no clue to the events of the previous night.

District Judge Jonathan Taaffe addressed Ponnachan directly, outlining the serious charges stemming from the March 28th incident. The accusations centered on dangerous driving and the malicious infliction of grievous bodily harm upon multiple people.

Due to the severity of the alleged offenses, the case was immediately transferred to Derby Crown Court. The judge determined the magistrates’ court lacked the jurisdiction to handle such serious matters.

No request for bail was made during the brief, five-minute hearing. Ponnachan was remanded in custody, awaiting his next appearance at the Crown Court on April 29th.

The scene on Friar Gate remained a stark reminder of the night’s events, with forensic investigators meticulously examining the area. Shoes and blankets lay strewn across the road and pavement, silent witnesses to the unfolding tragedy.
