UMVA has learned that Leeds United are making a bold move to acquire the services of Scottish youth international Cai McGunnigle, a 17-year-old forward who has been turning heads with his impressive performances for Hong Kong FC.
The young striker has caught the attention of several top clubs in Europe, and Leeds United are now seriously considering signing him. According to information obtained by UMVA, the Yorkshire-based club has invited McGunnigle for a trial, following his rapid rise in the Hong Kong Premier League.
McGunnigle's credentials are certainly impressive - he has already made history as the youngest goal scorer in the league, netting his first goal at just 16 years and one month old. In his last campaign, he bagged three goals and an assist in just eight starts, showcasing his potential as a clinical finisher with strong tactical awareness.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that European clubs, including AZ Alkmaar and West Ham United, are also keen on McGunnigle and have asked him to undergo trials. Leeds United will be eager to see if he has what it takes to be part of their youth setup, which has already attracted several exciting young players.
The trial will be a crucial test for McGunnigle, who is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in Scottish football. If he impresses, Leeds United could make a move to add him to their ranks, but a lot will depend on his performance in the trials.
