The SPLC reportedly provided financial support, in part, to the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia – the event that spawned the false narrative of President Trump defending neo-Nazis. While that claim about the former president was demonstrably untrue, the SPLC’s alleged actions paint a disturbing picture of hypocrisy.
This scandal suggests a chilling reality: the scarcity of genuine racism in society has led the SPLC to, in effect, manufacture the problem it claims to solve. For decades, the organization has operated not as a neutral observer, but as an ideological enforcer, wielding immense influence over public discourse.
