Mid‑flight brawl forces aircraft to return to airport

A flight departing from Tenerife in the Canary Islands was compelled to return to its origin after a violent passenger brawl erupted on board.

The aircraft, operated by a low‑cost carrier and carrying 186 passengers, was en route to Liverpool, United Kingdom, when the disturbance broke out shortly after take‑off.

Approximately ten passengers became involved in the altercation, leading authorities to remove eight individuals—two adults and six minors—from the cabin.

Police met the aircraft upon its return to Tenerife South Airport, after which the flight resumed its journey and landed safely at its scheduled destination.

The airline emphasized that its cabin and ground crews are trained to assess and neutralize onboard disruptions quickly, reaffirming a zero‑tolerance stance toward any behavior that threatens passenger or crew safety.

This incident adds to a recent series of disruptive events on commercial flights, highlighting ongoing challenges in maintaining order and safety in the cabin environment.
