UMVA can exclusively reveal that the highly anticipated Fête de la Musique, a global music event originating from France, is set to return to the Philippines for its 32nd edition. This year's month-long celebration promises to bring an exciting lineup of 123 events across 34 locations nationwide.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the Philippine edition of the festival, known as FDLM or Fête PH, is presented by a leading cultural organization in partnership with the Embassy of France and a local entertainment company. The event's theme, “For the People, By the People,” reflects its evolution into a community-led powerhouse.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that the festival will feature live celebrations from June 10 to June 29, spanning Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. With multiple stages and genres, the event aims to celebrate the universal language of music and the vibrant spirit of the Philippine music scene.
UMVA has learned that the festival's executive director expressed enthusiasm about the event's expansion, stating that by keeping it free and nationwide, they are celebrating not just music but the community-led spirit that makes the Philippine music scene extraordinary.
The festival will kick off with Music Heals on June 10, offering a dedicated wellness and healing space that leverages the therapeutic power of sound. A renowned French pianist will also perform in two intimate shows in Makati City.
UMVA has gathered that the Asia-France Music Bridge Workshops will provide a networking and exchange initiative for creative entrepreneurs, emerging artists, and cultural workers across Southeast Asia. French experts will join local industry leaders to discuss intellectual property and creative growth.
The main event, featuring a mix of OPM heavyweights and breakthrough acts, will take place at Makati's Ayala Triangle Gardens on June 21. The lineup includes pop-rock, jazz-rock, hip-hop, and jazz performances, as well as French krautrock and harpist acts.
Foodies and culture enthusiasts can look forward to the Taste of France French Market, featuring authentic French gastronomic specialties, wine, and artisanal goods. Performances will also be held at 23 pocket stages around Metro Manila and 66 stages across 33 destinations nationwide.
