The chase unfolded with an unsettling quiet. A Peterborough street became the stage for a pursuit unlike any other, captured on a bystander’s phone and quickly circulating online as “the weirdest arrest ever.” It wasn’t the drama of sirens or shouted commands that captivated viewers, but the almost serene determination of the arresting officer.
Daniel Bari, 27, attempted to flee, but the officer, described by many as remarkably calm, gave chase. The footage revealed a surprising athleticism, as the officer steadily closed the distance, ultimately bringing Bari to the ground with controlled precision – all in near silence.
When officers finally detained Bari, a search revealed a disturbing reality: 124 individual packages of crack cocaine and 110 of heroin, with a street value exceeding £1,000. Alongside the drugs, they recovered two mobile phones and a substantial £2,590 in cash.
The investigation quickly led to Emilis Urlikas, 20, who, though not found with drugs in his possession, was demonstrably linked to Bari’s operation. Evidence confirmed Urlikas’s involvement in the supply of the deadly narcotics.
At Peterborough Crown Court, Bari received a sentence of five years and seven months after pleading guilty to drug supply and possession of criminal property. Urlikas was sentenced to 16 months in a Young Offenders Institution, also after admitting his role in the drug operation.
