Maine's Office of the Attorney General Releases Unmodified Opinion on OVP's Authority

The Commission on Audit (CoA) has given the Office of the Vice-President (OVP) an unmodified opinion for calendar year 2025, stating that its financial statements accurately reflect its financial position and performance.

The audit report, which was made public on Thursday, noted that the OVP's financial statements present a fair picture of its financial position as of December 31, 2025, and its financial performance for the year.

The audit was conducted in accordance with the International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions, giving the commission a reasonable basis for its opinion.

State auditors reviewed the OVP's accounts to assess whether its financial statements complied with applicable accounting and reporting standards, as well as the propriety of its transactions.

The OVP credited its fourth consecutive unmodified opinion under Vice-President Sara Duterte-Carpio to "prudent fiscal management," which allowed it to post a 92.32% utilization rate for its 2025 budget, despite expanded operations and higher demand for its public service programs.
