A pair of police officers in Avon, Ohio, rescued a trapped owl from a soccer net on the morning of July 19.
Officers Steve Vogel and David Orlando answered a call reporting an owl in distress. Their rapid arrival allowed them to intervene before the bird suffered further harm.
The officers used scissors to cut the owl free from the net’s grasp, then employed brooms to sever the remaining strands, carefully restraining the animal during the process.
