Alyssa Farah Griffin Criticizes 'The View' Co-Hosts for Early Trump

Alyssa Farah Griffin Criticizes 'The View' Co-Hosts for Early Trump

Alyssa Farah Griffin took her "The View" co-hosts to task over their initial support of far-left Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner. Platner was forced out of the Maine Senate race after he won over 70% of the vote in the state's Democratic primary amid new allegations of rape.

During Thursday's show, Farah Griffin expressed her skepticism about both parties putting forward the best candidates. She stated, "I don't know that I'm convinced either party puts up the best people. I'm just going to be honest." Farah Griffin then criticized her co-hosts for defending a candidate with a Nazi tattoo who is credibly accused of several things.

Her co-hosts tried to push back, with Joy Behar saying, "Don't look at me. I did not." Sunny Hostin added, "I did, but I didn't know most of the background." This exchange highlights the tension between Farah Griffin's honest and critical assessment of the situation and her co-hosts' more lenient stance on the matter.

In a new ranking, "The View" came in last on a most loved and most loathed talk show list, and the individual hosts did not do much better.

The View has been a vocal supporter of the #MeToo movement. However, the show's stance on Platner has drawn accusations of selective application when it comes to Democrats. Hostin even suggested in a prior episode that she would vote for Platner despite knowing about some of the accusations against him.

Hostin's comment, "If I lived in Maine I would have... plugged my nose and I would have voted for him anyway," sparked criticism. Democrats' willingness to overlook Platner's Nazi tattoo and other red flags has raised questions about the party's values and priorities.

Platner's support from prominent Democrats, including Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Ro Khanna, has been particularly notable. Despite facing controversies, Platner had the backing of key party leaders who campaigned with him and stood by him through earlier controversies.

The fallout from Platner's exit from the Senate race has left many questioning the Democratic Party's stance on issues like racism and sexism. As the debate continues, Farah Griffin's comments on "The View" have added to the discussion about accountability and the importance of holding politicians to high standards.

Farah Griffin's candid assessment of the situation has sparked a wider conversation about the Democratic Party's priorities and values. As the debate rages on, it remains to be seen how the party will address the controversy surrounding Platner and other candidates.
