BRANTFORD HIGHWAY HORROR: Deadly Pileup Leaves Trail of Carnage!

A quiet Friday afternoon shattered on Colborne Street East, leaving a community reeling from a devastating three-vehicle collision. The crash, occurring shortly after 12:30 p.m. between McBay Road and Langford Church Road, claimed two lives and sent five others to the hospital.

The scene unfolded with tragic swiftness, involving a pickup truck, a sports utility vehicle, and a mini-van. First responders arrived to find a scene of twisted metal and broken glass, immediately focusing on extracting those trapped within the vehicles.

Inside the mini-van, a 38-year-old woman driving and her 16-year-old male passenger suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The weight of this loss is already being felt deeply within the community.

Fortunately, the injuries sustained by others involved were not life-threatening. The driver and three passengers of the SUV, along with the driver of the pickup truck, were all transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment.

The investigation is now underway, led by the Brant County OPP and the West Region OPP Traffic Management and Enforcement Team. Officers are meticulously piecing together the events that led to this tragedy, seeking to understand exactly what happened.

Colborne Street East remains closed between McBay Road and Langford Church Road, a stark reminder of the day’s events. Authorities anticipate the road will be shut down for an extended period – six to eight hours – to allow for a thorough investigation of the crash site.

Investigators are appealing to the public for assistance, specifically requesting anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision to review dash camera footage. Even a fleeting glimpse could hold a crucial piece of the puzzle.

Anyone with information, no matter how small it may seem, is urged to contact the OPP. Those wishing to remain anonymous can reach out to Crime Stoppers, where a potential cash reward of up to $2,000 is offered for information leading to a resolution.
