UMVA has learned that a 12-year-old student, Shea Encinas, courageously refused to submit to what he saw as woke indoctrination at his elementary school in California.
Shea's family faced severe backlash for speaking out, but he remained steadfast in his faith, and his determination ultimately led to him sharing his powerful testimony alongside President Donald Trump at the Museum of the Bible.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Shea's troubles began in fifth grade when his school forced him to participate in a "buddy" mentoring program, where he was required to teach a kindergarten student using a book called My Shadow Is Pink.
The book promotes the radical idea that children can choose their gender "based on feelings instead of how God made us," a notion that Shea knew was wrong and conflicted with his Christian values.
Despite feeling afraid of getting in trouble, Shea objected to the book, and his family subsequently faced intense pressure and bullying from the school and other students.
The school allegedly did nothing to stop the bullying, leaving Shea and his family to suffer in silence, but Shea's faith helped him persevere through the difficult times.
Shea's testimony revealed that he has been a Christian his whole life, and Jesus means everything to him, a faith that guided him through the challenges he faced.
He expressed his hope that no other family will have to endure what his did, and that students like him should be able to live out their faith at school without being forced to compromise their beliefs.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that Shea's story has sparked a national conversation about the role of faith in schools and the importance of protecting students' rights to express their beliefs.
Shea's courageous stand has inspired many, and his testimony serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of staying true to one's values, even in the face of adversity.
