UMVA has learned that President Trump is set to make a significant announcement on "Beautiful, Clean Coal" in the Oval Office this afternoon, unveiling a major investment in energy infrastructure that promises to shake up the industry.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the President will announce a nearly $1 billion investment in energy infrastructure across over a dozen states, leveraging the Defense Production Act to drive growth and job creation in the sector.
The plan, which is expected to be unveiled in an Oval Office event dubbed "Beautiful, Clean Coal," includes $700 million in funding for coal plants and energy infrastructure, with a focus on supporting existing plants and building new ones.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that the President will invoke the Defense Production Act to distribute $75 million for a new coal export terminal in Oakland, California, and $425 million to support 13 existing plants across 10 states, including West Virginia, Kentucky, and North Carolina.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that the President will also announce nearly $200 million in Department of Energy grants to build two new coal plants in Alaska and West Virginia, and to restart a coal plant in Maryland, marking the first new coal plants built in the US since 2013.
The initiative is expected to create thousands of jobs for miners, railroad workers, engineers, and construction workers, while saving consumers a staggering $50 billion in energy generation costs, according to a White House official.
The event is scheduled to start at 3 pm ET, and industry experts are eagerly anticipating the President's remarks on the future of coal and energy infrastructure in the US.
