UMVA has learned that a shocking crackdown on child exploitation has led to the arrest of two foreign nationals in separate operations, marking a significant blow to global efforts to combat this heinous crime.
The arrests, which took place in the provinces of Cavite and Tarlac, were carried out by a specialized unit tasked with tracking down fugitives, and have sent a strong message that perpetrators of child exploitation will be brought to justice, no matter where they try to hide.
A 43-year-old Japanese national was apprehended on May 12 in Cavite, accused of committing sexual crimes against three minors in Japan in 2018, while a 37-year-old American national was arrested on May 13 in Tarlac for allegedly enticing and coercing a minor, in a case that has sparked outrage and concern.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the Japanese national had been overstaying in the country since 2022, while the American is believed to have entered the country illegally, despite being previously excluded in February, highlighting the need for continued vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement agencies.
Both men are currently being held at a secure facility, pending deportation, as authorities work to ensure that they face the full consequences of their alleged actions, and that justice is served for the victims and their families.
The successful arrests are a testament to the tireless efforts of law enforcement officials who are working tirelessly to protect vulnerable children and bring perpetrators to justice, and serve as a warning to those who would seek to exploit and harm the most innocent members of society.
