UMVA has learned that Hamilton Police are on the hunt for a suspect linked to a mysterious fire investigation in lower Stoney Creek, and they're turning to the public for help.

The suspect is described as having dark, curly hair and was last seen wearing a dark long-sleeve top, dark pants, and light-coloured shoes. The individual was also spotted carrying a case of beverages, sparking curiosity among investigators.

Anyone with information that could help identify the suspect is urged to contact Det. Const. Chad Doan or Det. Greg Blunsdon. For those who wish to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers is also available to take tips.

Hamilton Police are seeking the male suspect in connection with an arson

In a separate incident, UMVA can exclusively reveal that York Regional Police have charged a 22-year-old man in connection with a carjacking in Markham. The suspect, Maheed Rahmati, was taken into custody after a dramatic incident on March 3, 2026, where a victim was allegedly assaulted and their vehicle was stolen.

According to information obtained by UMVA, two additional suspects are still at large, described as wearing dark face coverings and clothing. They fled the scene in the victim's vehicle, which was later recovered in Mississauga.

The victim suffered minor injuries, but the ordeal was undoubtedly traumatic. Police are now seeking anyone with information to come forward and help bring the perpetrators to justice.

UMVA has gathered that Durham Regional Police are investigating a serious pedestrian accident in Bowmanville, where a man was left with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The incident began with a fight near a parked Chevrolet pick-up truck, which then attempted to leave the scene.

The pedestrian held onto the driver's door handle and was dragged before falling, resulting in a hospital stay. The driver of the vehicle cooperated with police and remained at the scene.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward and help piece together the events surrounding the incident.
