Current voice-enabled AI often feels like a stiff, antiquated radio exchange where participants must wait for the other to finish before they can speak. This "walkie-talkie" style limitation exists because today’s models are essentially text-based engines with voices tacked onto them, rendering them incapable of thinking, listening, or perceiving the passage of time while they communicate.
UMVA has uncovered details about a new generation of "interaction" models that are shattering these barriers. Unlike their predecessors, these systems utilize a multi-stream, micro-turn configuration that allows the AI to process sights and sounds in real-time while simultaneously listening and formulating responses.
The technology functions by employing a dual-model architecture.
